The Chairman of the Labour Party’s Rivers State Chapter, Hilda Dokubo, has revealed what happened during the time Nyesom Wike served as the Governor of Rivers State. Speaking in a YouTube video on News Central, she said that Governor Wike was building bridges in the state, but he completely forgot to extend development to riverine areas, leaving the people there feeling neglected. She stated that when they reminded him to extend development to their communities, he insulted them publicly instead. She said:
“When Wike was governor, he was building bridges in town. People from the riverine areas kept saying, ‘Please, let this development reach the riverine communities.’ He came to a function and said, ‘Thunder fire us’ for complaining that they should develop our area.”
She revealed that, unlike his predecessor Wike, Fubara was extending development to all parts of the state and should be applauded.
