Former President Olusegun Obasanjo humorously remarked that if Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, the bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, is late when God comes for the rapture, he will be left behind. This comment was made while teasing the bishop for his tardiness at Senator Aminu Tambuwal’s birthday celebration.
In a video posted by Channels Television, Obasanjo acknowledged Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and his wife, wishing the senator a happy birthday and many more celebrations to come.
Obasanjo stated, “I want to specifically acknowledge the celebrant, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and his lovely wife. Happy birthday and many happy returns. And regarding Bishop Kukah, since he arrived late, I must remind you, Bishop, during the rapture, if you’re not there when God takes us to heaven, we will leave you behind.”
