I Will Never Speak Against Tinubu; I’m Unfair If I Speak Against Him – Apostle Johnson Suleman

Apostle Johnson Suleman has offered a clear explanation for why he chooses not to criticise President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, even as Nigeria battles rising insecurity. His comments come at a time when citizens are still reeling from two disturbing incidents: the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the recent kidnapping of students from a Catholic school in Niger State. Both attacks have intensified national frustration over the worsening situation.

Suleman said many people expect him to openly condemn the president because of the wave of killings, kidnappings, and banditry sweeping through communities. However, he argued that it would be unfair for him to attack Tinubu over promises he never made during the election campaigns.

He explained that throughout the campaign season, Tinubu did not outline any concrete commitments that Nigerians could hold him accountable for. Instead, Suleman believes the former governor simply positioned himself for leadership without giving specific assurances. As he put it, “Someone asked me a question that why am I not speaking against the president and I said I will never speak against him. I am unfair if I speak against him. They said why and I said show me a video where the man promised he will do something. Somebody who went to Kano during campaign and said he came to dance. So why would I attack a man who didn’t give any promise.”

According to Suleman, the president’s now-famous “it is my turn” declaration during the election season was not tied to any defined agenda, making it unreasonable to accuse him of failing to fulfill what he never pledged.
