The Founder and Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has explained why some people continue to pray over certain challenges without experiencing a change in their situations, saying God sometimes allows difficult seasons to achieve a spiritual purpose.
Speaking during a recent sermon shared on his YouTube channel, Suleman said some believers remain focused on their problems rather than allowing God to work on their hearts through the process.
According to him, persistent desperation over a particular challenge may sometimes be the very thing God wants to remove before bringing a desired change.
“That is why it has not changed, because the reason why God made you go through this is to kill this desperation,” Suleman said, adding that as long as a person remains controlled by desperation, the purpose of the season may not have been achieved.
The cleric explained that God desires believers to reach a point where their commitment to Him is not dependent on the outcome of their prayers or the resolution of their challenges. He said people should not make their requests the only reason they seek God, but should develop a deeper relationship with Him beyond their needs.
Suleman further illustrated his point with ministry growth, noting that some people fast and pray solely because they want their churches or endeavours to increase. He said growth will come when they reach a stage where their devotion to God is no longer driven by personal ambitions but by genuine surrender.
