Anthony Ehilebo, a PDP chieftain, has stated that the expulsion of Nyesom Wike and some members of the PDP during the party’s recent convention in Ibadan came as a surprise to many party leaders.
In an interview with TVC, Ehilebo said the PDP governors and even the chairman of the convention did not know Wike and the others would be expelled from the party at the convention. He said that if they had known ahead of time, they would have stopped it.
Ehilebo said he wishes Wike well as he continues his political journey outside the PDP. He stated that he hopes Wike becomes fully committed to the APC. He also said the rest of the PDP members will now concentrate on rebuilding what remains of the party
In Ehilebo’s exact words: “The governors, even the chairman of the convention never saw what was coming because if they did, they would have stopped it and that would have continued to put PDP in a position (sic). Look I wish the honorable minister well in his new journey, I wish he would become serious and since he is a darling of the APC, stick with them and make that party work while the rest of us rebuild what is left of the PDP”
