According to a report by Daily Post on Monday, October 26, 2026, Primate Elijah Ayodele, Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has criticised the Federal Government over the worsening economic hardship facing Nigerians, expressing concern about the difficulties citizens are experiencing under the current administration.
In a video statement circulating on Sunday, the cleric said the country was not progressing well under the present government, noting that many Nigerians were struggling with severe economic challenges and growing dissatisfaction over the situation.
Ayodele expressed concern about the increasing cost of living, highlighting the rising prices of goods in markets and the growing financial burden on households.
He also pointed to the rising cost of school fees, which has made it increasingly difficult for many parents and guardians to meet their children’s educational needs.
The cleric further identified persistent insecurity as one of the major problems confronting the country, alongside the economic difficulties affecting citizens.
He lamented that these challenges had intensified the suffering of Nigerians, leaving many people dissatisfied with the government’s handling of the nation’s affairs.
He also warned that the growing anger among citizens could have political consequences for members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress as preparations for the next election gather momentum.
According to him, the prevailing hardship could increase tensions between the ruling party’s supporters and residents who oppose its political activities in their communities.
Ayodele cautioned that APC supporters might face hostility in areas where the party lacks public support, particularly as political campaigns become more prominent.
He linked the potential danger to the frustration among Nigerians over economic conditions, insecurity and other difficulties affecting their daily lives.
The cleric stated that the situation could become particularly concerning for APC members in communities where residents are dissatisfied with the ruling party.
He said the anger among the population could translate into attacks against party supporters during the campaign period.
“I am telling you in confidence, they are going to attack the people of APC in areas where they don’t want APC and people are angry,” he said.
