The Mother Of My Worker Was Kidnapped And The Kidnappers Broke Her Fingers Because Of Ransom

According to a report by Daily Post on Friday, July 31, 2026, Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, on Friday called on President Bola Tinubu to resign rather than wait to participate in the 2027 elections, stating that the president should not continue with plans to seek another term in office.

Okonkwo made the statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on Friday, where he discussed the recently overturned Abuja Federal High Court judgment that had deregistered the ADC.

The ADC chieftain addressed the court decision and explained his position on the political development, while also speaking about the security challenges affecting Nigerians across different parts of the country.

He expressed concerns over the increasing cases of kidnapping and other forms of insecurity, noting that the consequences of such incidents could be devastating for victims and their families.

Okonkwo further shared a personal experience involving his employee, describing how the family member of the worker was abducted in Kaduna State and how the kidnappers demanded a huge ransom before inflicting harm on the victim.

He stated that the experience had caused him deep pain and reflected the difficulties faced by many Nigerians who are affected by insecurity and criminal activities, he said such situations required urgent attention to prevent further loss of lives.

The former spokesperson also linked the broader political conversation to the need for effective leadership and stronger measures to address the challenges confronting citizens, especially those facing threats to their safety and livelihoods in communities across Nigeria today too.

He said, “Life and the destruction of life is better prevented than cured because when somebody is killed, it’s final. Let me tell you a personal story that pains me, my worker, because most of the things you hear are nothing compared to the actual thing.

“My worker, they kidnapped the mother in Kaduna State and they were asking them for ransom and when they could not provide the hundreds of millions they were asking for, they broke two fingers of the mother.
