According to a report by The Times Of Israel on July 11, 2026, US President Donald Trump said he has directed the American military to remain prepared to launch strikes against Iran if the Iranian government carries out or attempts an assassination of the US president.
Trump made the statement in a post on his Truth Social platform, warning that the United States had already put military plans in place in response to what he described as threats against his life.
“1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the Globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME!,” he says in a Truth Social post.
The US president also declared that military directives had already been issued, saying the armed forces were fully prepared to respond if such a scenario unfolded.
“Orders have already been given, and the US Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran — PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!”
Trump indicated that the military order would remain in effect for one year, with the possibility of extending it if considered necessary.
His remarks followed the funeral of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, where participants reportedly made public calls for Trump’s assassination.
