APC chieftain, Daniel Bwala has defended his decision to leave the All Progressives Congress to join the Peoples Democratic Party, and later return to the ruling party, saying he was unfairly criticised despite the political history of some of his opponents.
Speaking during an interview on The Morayo Afolabi-Brown Show, on Wednesday, 8 July, 2026, Bwala responded to criticisms over his movement between political parties. He argued that those attacking him had ignored what he described as the history of frequent defections by former Labour Party presidential candidate .
Bwala said: “They asked us before why did I leave APC and went to PDP and came back. And their master incidentally happens to be Peter Obi whose checkered history is that of changing parties like a table tennis.”
The APC chieftain maintained that political realignments are not unusual in Nigeria and should not be used as the sole basis for judging a politician’s credibility.
