Army Reacts To Claim That Soldiers Are Denied Allowances And That Officers Are Being Tortured

The Nigerian Army has taken to its official X account on Sunday, May 24, 2026 to react to claims that soldiers are denied allowances.

In the post that the Army shared on its official X account, it was also alleged that many soldiers are being tortured.

Reacting to the allegations, the Nigerian Army stated that the claims are false and misleading. The Nigerian Army said such comments are made by mischief makers in order to defame the military. The Nigerian Army said those coming up with unverified comments are trying to tarnish the image of the force.

The Army however, urged the general public to disregard such statements and verify information before spreading.
