The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has called on Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to intensify support for women and youths, stating that greater political inclusion and empowerment are necessary ahead of future elections.
Primate Ayodele made the remarks during a prophetic session shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, where he addressed issues relating to women’s participation in politics and government support programmes.
Speaking directly to the First Lady, the cleric alleged that more needed to be done to advocate for women politically and economically. “This advice is for Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu. You have not advocated for women. And you need women that will vote for your government,” he said.
Primate Ayodele also accused the First Lady of failing to sufficiently support women seeking political opportunities and representation. “Mama Tinubu, don’t like me. You are selfish. Mama Tinubu, you are selfish. You only use yourself alone. I’m not saying you should like me, mama. Don’t like me at all. Because truth is always bitter,” he stated.
The cleric questioned the level of empowerment programmes directed at women and challenged the First Lady to do more in supporting female participation in governance and elective offices.
“You have not advocated for women. You just say 10,000 men plus women. For where? How many women have you empowered? Did you advocate for women to be in politics? How many women did you fight for to be in the Senate? House of Representatives? To be governor? Even to be president?” he asked.
Primate Ayodele further criticized policies and public statements he believed had not adequately addressed poverty and hardship among Nigerians: “Later, you said palliative to alleviate poverty. Which poverty? You are increasing poverty,” he stated.
According to the cleric, women constitute a significant part of the country’s voting population and should be given greater political attention and support: “Nigeria needs women. Those who vote for your husband, they are women. Not many men come out to vote,” he said.
Primate Ayodele urged the First Lady to reconsider her approach and engage more directly with women and youths across the country: “Mama Tinubu, change yourself. If you want your husband to win, you had better follow that step. I give you an idea. The honest truth, as God said I should tell you, mama, is that you’re selfish.”
The cleric also advised the First Lady to provide more appointments, opportunities, and support structures for women and young people. “Just tell the women, come. You have to go and vote for my husband. Give them appointments, give them support. Youths, women. But you are not advocating for women,” he said.
Primate Ayodele added that such actions would strengthen her public legacy among women across the country. “So that they can write your name with a golden pen,” he stated…See More
