As Gov I Went To Upper Iweka,A Madman Told Me People Who Steal There Come From A Nearby Barracks—Obi

Peter Obi has stated that when he was governor, a madman gave him advice that helped him curb the criminal activity at Upper Iweka, a major junction and commercial hub in Onitsha, Anambra

In a video shared by Advocacy For Good Governance, Obi said Upper Iweka was known for frequent theft and criminal activities at the time. He said when he visited the area a madman insisted on speaking with him.

Obi said many people around tried to stop him from listening to the madman but he decided to hear him out. He said the man told him that most of the thieves who operated in the area often went in and out of a nearby barracks, and that the barracks should be removed from there

In Obi’s words: “In Anambra State there is a place we call Upper Iweka, we had pickpockets there. I went there as a governor and there was a mad man there, he kept insisting he would talk to me. Everybody said, ‘The man is mad’ but I said, ‘Let us listen to him’.
