According to a report by Daily Post, on Friday May 8, 2026, activist politician and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has stated that President Bola Tinubu is not different from former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Sowore made the statement while speaking to journalists at the Federal High Court in Abuja after a court session involving charges brought against him by the Department of State Services, DSS, Justice Mohammed Garba Umar had dismissed a no-case submission filed by Sowore in the cyberbullying case.
The DSS had accused him of cyberbullying President Tinubu over comments he made on his social media account, where he allegedly described the president as a criminal, the court ruled that the charges should continue and directed Sowore to open his defence.
Reacting after the ruling, Sowore stated that the country’s major political figures are all part of the same political system and have not shown real commitment to changing Nigeria for the better, he said Nigerians should stop believing that any of the established political leaders would bring the kind of change the country needs.
According to him, they all operate in similar ways and are uncomfortable with voices that push for deeper reforms and liberation for ordinary citizens, Sowore maintained that if any of the other political figures were in power, his position and criticism would remain the same because, in his view, they all resist progressive ideas that could transform the country.
“Jonathan is not different from Tinubu, Tinubu is not different from Atiku, Atiku is not different from Obi or Kwankwaso. We are the ones who are different and that is the idea that they are afraid of in all these struggles that you are seeing,” he said….See More
