In a recent interview shared by Channels TV, Former Special Adviser to former Governor Wike, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, defended the leadership style of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, amid growing political discussions ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking during the interview, Inko-Tariah dismissed claims that Governor Fubara is inaccessible or unwilling to extend political patronage to associates. According to him, many of the criticisms directed at the governor are coming from individuals who expected personal benefits from his administration.
He stated, “Those who say the governor is stingy do so because they do not have personal access to him and are not benefiting from him.”
The former adviser explained that Governor Fubara’s administration has focused more on governance, public welfare, and development projects rather than political appeasement. He added that the governor has continued to invest in sectors such as healthcare, infrastructure, and human capital development, which he said have earned him strong support among ordinary residents of Rivers State.
