Segun Showunmi, a leader in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has encouraged former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to remain resolute and not yield to any demands to withdraw from the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) upcoming presidential contest for 2027.
In a conversation with Channels TV, Showunmi stated, “If someone is suggesting that Waziri Atiku Abubakar should step aside, sir, do not succumb to that pressure. I can assure you that his ideas for managing this nation, particularly in terms of security, are significantly superior to those of others. Therefore, why should he back down for them? For what reason? He has indicated that this is his final attempt, and even if it results in a loss, participating in the primaries is essential.”
Showunmi also strongly advocated for former Governor Rotimi Amaechi from Rivers State, asserting that his extensive background as a former Speaker, Governor, and Minister provides him with a more diverse and credible resume than many of his competitors….See More
