Govt Has Never Been For The People; Tinubu Built Mansion For VP When They Both Own Houses- Onwubiko

Emmanuel Onwubiko of HURIWA spoke during an interview on Symfoni TV, describing a long-standing gap between the government and the people. He stated that public leadership has historically failed to reflect the interests and needs of ordinary citizens, presenting a pattern of disconnect in governance.

He further focused on the administration of President Bola Tinubu, explaining that its actions appear centered on personal interests rather than collective welfare. According to him, the direction of governance since the president assumed office has not demonstrated a clear alignment with the general population.

He also referred to reports about plans to build a new presidential mansion for Vice President Kashim Shettima, noting that such discussions emerged soon after the administration began. He pointed out that both leaders already have personal residences in Abuja and that official government housing is also available for the Vice President.

In his words, “Government has never been with the people. The Government of Tinubu has always been about himself. Most of the stories we have heard since he became president was always how to build a presidential mansion for the VP (Kashim Shettima) when there’s enough housing asset where the VP can can live for some time because both the VP and the president were not common people before they became who they are.
