You’re Already Conquered; You’re Speaking from a Weak Position, Yet You’re Demanding Secretary?—Wike

According to a report by The Nigerian Tribune, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday strongly criticised Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, labelling him “unstable” amid escalating tensions within the PDP.

Speaking during an inspection of ongoing infrastructure projects across Abuja, Wike dismissed suggestions that he had been “planted” to destabilize the party. In response to Mohammed’s assertions, the former Rivers State governor described the claims as “embarrassing” and accused the Bauchi governor of political inconsistency.

“It’s very embarrassing. He tells you one thing today; he says one thing in the morning, and in the afternoon he says a different thing. Bala, we are very happy that you told Nigerians who you are, that you’re never stable,” Wike said.

He went on to allege that Mohammed had previously engaged with the All Progressives Congress (APC), recalling a 2022 visit to Port Harcourt, where he reportedly lobbied for Bola Ahmed Tinubu before later changing political allegiance.

On the ongoing PDP crisis, Wike insisted that the party remains “alive and kicking” despite internal disagreements and ongoing legal disputes. He also criticized Mohammed’s purpcriticizednd for the role of National Secretary, calling it impractical.

“You’re already conquered; you lost. You’re talking with a weak point, and you want to demand a secretary? That is not done,” he added.

Wike reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP while reiterating his support for President Tinubu. “I have said I will not leave PDP. I have said that I will continue to support Mr. President. We will make our points in 2027, and from there we move on,” he said.
