According to a report by Daily Independent, on Wednesday April 1, 2026, former Special Adviser on Political Matters to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, has stated that he will not serve in the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Ojudu, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that he has remained consistent in his political views, he stressed that he has no plans to accept any position in the current government.
He spoke after a video circulated online suggested that he was seeking a role in Tinubu’s cabinet, Ojudu described the video as misleading and false, and clarified that he did not give any interview in March 2026.
The senator noted that his last interview was conducted the previous year with a journalist, Mr Obilo, regarding his book, Adventures of a Guerrilla Journalist, he said that his comments in that interview were only about the book and not about joining the government.
Ojudu stated that his political position has not changed, he remains committed to his convictions and will not participate in the current administration.
Ojudu’s statement comes at a time when several APC members are being speculated to be offered government appointments, his refusal highlights a difference in approach among party leaders.
Ojudu has been known for his independent stance within the APC, the former adviser has been active in civil society and media discussions, He has maintained that his focus will continue to be on political thought and public engagement rather than government service.
