If They Like, They Can Just Have Meeting And Be Speaking Yoruba, Tinubu Has Conquered Nigeria–Modibo

According to a report by Daily Post on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, political affairs analyst Ibrahim Modibo has expressed the view that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu currently wields significant political influence across Nigeria, describing his administration as one that has firmly established its presence nationwide.

Modibo made these remarks during an interview on Trust TV on Monday, where he analyzed the structure, reach, and direction of governance under Tinubu’s leadership. He argued that the administration has consolidated power in a way that shapes major decisions at the national level, giving it a strong grip on political and institutional processes.

While acknowledging this broad influence, the analyst raised concerns about what he perceives as an imbalance in development across different parts of the country. He alleged that government policies appear to disproportionately favor Lagos State, Tinubu’s political base, pointing to visible improvements there compared to challenges still faced in other regions.

According to Modibo, many states outside Lagos continue to struggle with poor infrastructure, limited access to basic services, and slower economic growth. He suggested that this disparity has fueled frustration among communities that feel sidelined, contributing to a growing sense of inequality in national development.

He further linked these concerns to what he described as a concentration of attention and resources in specific areas, warning that such a pattern could deepen regional divides if not addressed. In his view, equitable distribution of development projects and social amenities is crucial for maintaining national cohesion.

Modibo also questioned the composition of the federal government’s Economic Team, claiming that several key positions are occupied by individuals from Lagos State or the wider South-West region. He argued that this perceived concentration in appointments raises questions about inclusiveness and fair representation in a country as diverse as Nigeria.

He stressed that balanced leadership is essential to ensure policies reflect the interests of all regions, not just a select few. Highlighting his concerns, Modibo remarked that the dominance of a particular group in decision-making spaces could create the impression that governance is not sufficiently representative.

In a striking comment, he said that if those in power chose to act unilaterally, they could hold meetings and conduct official business in their local language without opposition—an assertion he used to underscore his belief that Tinubu’s political control has become deeply entrenched across the country…..See More
