Agnes Ajayi Olanrewaju, the mother of the late Nigerian boxer Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju, has clarified claims surrounding an altercation involving the boxer’s widow, Adebusola Olanrewaju, amid the ongoing family rift following her son’s tragic death in Ghana last year.
Speaking in an interview with PUNCH, she addressed allegations that her children collectively assaulted Adebusola.
She explained that after the incident, the widow accused all her children of jointly beating her up. In reality, only one of her children had slapped the widow in anger during a heated moment.

The dispute stems from the aftermath of Segun’s collapse and death in the ring during a March 2025 fight in Accra, which has led to tensions over estate matters, donations from boxing authorities, and accusations between the widow and her in-laws.
