Iran International has compiled eyewitness testimony and statements from human rights advocates revealing that detainees are systematically denied medical treatment while being administered unidentified shots, some resulting in fatal consequences or severe health crises.

According to Shiva Mahbobi, who serves as spokesperson for the Campaign to Free Political Prisoners in Iran based in the United Kingdom, the Iranian regime may be conducting a covert massacre inside detention centers. She warned that beyond the public killings witnessed during street confrontations, another catastrophe could be unfolding invisibly within prison walls.

These reports follow devastating violence during protests that began in December as economic grievances boiled over into nationwide demonstrations. Iran’s government claims more than 3,000 people perished during the upheaval, though independent monitoring suggests far greater casualties.

The Human Rights Activists News Agency, operating from the United States, has confirmed 6,842 deaths—most being demonstrators killed by government security forces. However, advocacy groups caution that the actual death toll likely exceeds documented figures by substantial margins.

One account describes a teenage girl, just 16 years old, who entered a comatose state after being injected while held by authorities.
