Yoruba Are So Sophisticated, Highly Educated That You Can Only Toy With Them At Your Own Peril -Atiku

According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, former Vice President of Nigeria and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has said he feels fortunate to be married to a Yoruba woman.

He explained that his wife, Titi Atiku Abubakar, who hails from the Ijesa tribe in Osun State, is a rare blessing and an example of the admirable qualities found among the Yoruba people.

Atiku made these remarks in response to suggestions that his government would be dominated by the Hausa-Fulani if he becomes President in 2027.

Atiku stressed that such assumptions are not only misleading but also unfounded, noting that his personal life already demonstrates inclusivity.

According to him, having a Yoruba woman as his wife has exposed him to the cultural richness, intelligence, and values of the Yoruba people.

He emphasized that this experience shapes his worldview and proves that he is committed to carrying everyone along in governance.

Speaking through his Media Consultant, Kola Johnson, Atiku added that the Yoruba people will remain central to his plans if given the opportunity to lead the nation again.

He said his policies will give priority to the interest of the Yoruba and reflect their significant contributions to national development.

Atiku maintained that his leadership will not sideline any ethnic group but will instead promote equity and fairness.

He further explained that the Yoruba people are known for their high level of education, sophistication, and political awareness.

He noted that these qualities make them one of the most respected groups in Nigeria and Africa at large.

According to him, no serious leader can afford to ignore such a people in the decision-making process of the country.

He said their role in shaping Nigeria’s history and future cannot be overlooked, he added that as a leader, he recognizes the importance of ensuring their voices are heard and their interests protected.

Highlighting his long-standing relationship with the Yoruba, Atiku said his marriage to Titi has further deepened his bond with the people.

He acknowledged her support, values, and influence in his life, describing her as a “jewel of inestimable value.”

He pointed out that his household itself is a symbol of unity and peaceful coexistence across ethnic lines.

Atiku concluded by reassuring Nigerians that his administration, if elected in 2027, would not be built on ethnic dominance but on inclusion and fairness.
