Sheik Ahmad Gumi, a renowned Islamic cleric and former military Captain recently reacted to the murder of Saif Gaddafi, a son to erstwhile Libya president Muamar Gaddafi. According to the statements which were shared on his official Facebook handle, he pointed out that the mode of operation suggested the assassination was carried out by foreign clandestine assassins.
The news regarding the brutal murder of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, a son to the respected former Libya president Muamar Gaddafi generated mixed reactions after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.
The incident, which sparked massive public attention, led to many speculations as to why the young man was hunted down and assassinated. Sheik Ahmad Gumi, a renowned Islamic cleric in a recent statement, pointed accusing fingers at foreign powers.
According to the statements which were shared on his official Facebook page on Sunday February 8th 2026, the Islamic cleric asked the stunning question, ‘who killed the son of Gaddafi?’ and went ahead to provide answers.
Political rivals, according to the former military Captain might have had a hand in the death of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, however, the mode of operation suggests the attack was carried out by clandestine foreign commando assassins.
He further pointed out that Saif al-Islam Gaddafi remained one of the few personalities who possessed the capability to unite Libya, however, according to Sheikh Gumi, a United Libya was not in the interest of foreign powers in Africa and the middle east.
