Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and lawyer recently reacted after Ebonyi State lawmaker, Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi and Borno State lawmaker, Senator Ali Ndume clashed during a plenary session at the national assembly on Wednesday. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the table finally turned on those who abused Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Many were left stunned after the lawmaker representing Ebonyi north central senatorial district, Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi and respected Elderstateman, Senator Ali Ndume clashed at the Senate on Wednesday February 11th, 2026.
The altercation, which came amid the clamour for electoral changes however, sparked massive reactions from different quarters, including from Chidi Odinkalu, a respected human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, the legal practitioner however, found the altercation needless and a pay back on those who had attacked Kogi central senatorial district lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Chidi Odinkalu, in his remarks, pointed out that when Senator Nwaebonyi was abusing the Kogi lawmaker and others, he was hailed, but now he turned his violent pangs against them. However, he disclosed that his actions were informed by Dave Umahi, the minister for works.

“When Senator Onyekachi was busy abusing Natasha Akpoti, Oby Ezekwesili and other women, parliamentary misogynists hailed the. Today,…he has turned his violent fangs on them…..” He wrote.
