When Gen Uba Died, The Next Day Shettima Represented Tinubu In Kogi And Was Dancing Makosa — Ameh

Peter Ameh, the General Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties, has condemned what he described as a display of insensitivity by the Nigeria’s leadership, stressing that the vice president, Kashim Shettima danced at a public event in Kogi State a day after General M. Uba was killed by terrorists.

In a press statement shared by Symfoni TV, Ameh argued that this incident reflects a deep lack of empathy within the current administration. He asserted that accountability and transparency in government can only thrive when leaders emerge through a credible electoral process.

He maintained that Nigeria’s electoral system remains fundamentally flawed, enabling individuals who lack competence, capacity, and compassion to ascend to power. According to Ameh, such leaders often prioritize personal interests over national wellbeing, contributing to the worsening state of insecurity.

He recalled that when General Uba was killed or abducted by terrorists, the vice president appeared in Kogi the next day representing President Bola Tinubu and publicly dancing Makosa.

He stated that this behavior demonstrated a disturbing absence of compassion and respect for the sanctity of human life. He emphasized that even a single death at the hands of terrorists should alarm any responsible leadership.

He further criticized the president’s visit to Benue after the Yelwata attack, where more than 200 people were killed, describing the celebratory reception organized for his visit as a national embarrassment. According to Ameh, such actions erode public trust and damage the country’s image.

In his words, “What is happening in our country today is disheartening. You could find out when General M. Uba died or was kidnapped or was abducted by the terrorist.

The next day, the vice president represented the president in Kogi State, where he was dancing Makosa and was dancing and was enjoying himself.

“There was no feeling, there was no empathy, there was no compassion. We need compassionate leaders. Leaders that believe in the sanctity of life. Leaders that believe that even one single death dents the image of this country.”
