In an interview with Channels Television, former Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo stated that he, members of his family and allies have suffered violent attacks amidst his political dispute with Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Okorocha said an attempt was made on his life. He said a thug was sent to kill him but he escaped after a hooded police officer secretly warned him in Hausa that there was a plot to kill him and advised him to move to a secure area
Okorocha also said one of his in-laws was shot and spent nine months in a hospital in the United States receiving treatment.
In Okorocha’s words: “One of his thug came to attack me, if not for grace of God and one of the policemen wearing hood came to me and spoke in Hausa that ‘Please leave this place, they will kill you’. They shot my in-law and he was in hospital in the US for 9 months.
