The Problem ADC Has Is Nondescript; It Couldn’t Define Itself Well, In Ideology Or Structure-Amadi

In a recent interview shared by Arise News, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Dr. Sam Amadi, has raised concerns over the internal challenges facing the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing them as fundamental and deeply rooted.

According to him, the party’s current struggles go beyond leadership disputes and legal battles, pointing instead to a lack of clear direction and identity. He noted that while political alliances and court actions continue to shape the party’s trajectory, the absence of a coherent framework remains a major setback.

“The problem the ADC has is no clear script. It has not defined itself well, neither ideologically nor structurally,” Amadi stated.

He explained that political parties thrive on strong ideological foundations and well-defined organisational structures, both of which appear weak within the ADC. This, he said, has contributed to recurring internal conflicts and difficulties in presenting a united front.

Amadi further observed that without a clear identity, it becomes challenging for the party to build trust among supporters or distinguish itself in Nigeria’s competitive political landscape. He warned that alliances or mergers may not yield meaningful results unless these foundational issues are addressed.
