Sowore Reacts To Report That Utomi Wants Him To Join Opposition Meeting To Produce Single Candidate -

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress AAC, Omoyele Sowore has taken to his official X account on Thursday, September 17, 2026 to react after it was reported that Nigerian economist, Prof Pat Utomi is planning to hold a meeting with him and other candidates.

In the statement that Omoyele Sowore shared on his official X handle, he said the meeting will be held in order to produce a single candidate that will face President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming presidential election in 2027.

Omoyele Sowore, however, stated that he won’t be a part of the meeting. He said his party will not attend the gathering. The AAC presidential candidate stated that he can not enter into a coalition with the same political establishment that he has consistently opposed.

According to Omoyele Sowore on his official X account;

“Many of the politicians now presenting themselves as an alternative have, at different times, operated within the same political order across the APC, PDP, LP and other formations”.
