Rashida Alao, the mother of a four-year-old girl allegedly assaulted in Jikwoyi has recounted the heartbreaking moment her daughter disclosed that she had been touched inappropriately.
Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, Alao narrated how she confronted her daughter after noticing troubling signs and unusual behaviour at their home in Jikwoyi, a community within Abuja.
According to her, she woke the child to seek clarity about what had happened. “I woke her up immediately and asked her what happend to you. She asked me if she will not die, I said ‘you will not die, what happened, who touched you’?” Alao recounted emotionally. “She said her teacher.”
The suspect in the case has been identified by residents as the son of a male teacher at the Islamic school the child attends. The allegation has sparked outrage and deep concern among parents in the area, many of whom are demanding swift intervention by authorities.
