Senator Shehu Sani, a prominent member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and a former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central, has reacted to reports that United States President Donald Trump deleted a controversial social media post portraying former President Barack Obama and his wife in a derogatory manner. The post, which sparked widespread outrage and condemnation, was said to have drawn strong criticism from members of the public and civil rights advocates before it was eventually taken down.
Shehu Sani shared his reaction via his verified X account on Friday, February 6, 2026. According to a report by THE CABLE, the decision to delete the post came after sustained backlash and pressure from critics who described the content as offensive and inappropriate. Despite the removal of the post, Sani observed that Trump continued to receive praise from some of his supporters.
In his commentary, Sani expressed concern over what he described as blind loyalty among certain followers of the former U.S. president. He stated, “When Trump published the monkey image of the Obamas, many defended him; now that it’s been taken down, those same people praise him for that decision. This reflects the robotic mindset of his supporters.” His remarks have since generated discussion online.
