Senator Ned Nwoko has broken his silence following a viral video in which his wife, popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, accused him of domestic abuse and claimed he sent thugs to attack her.
In a lengthy statement released on X (formerly Twitter), the Delta North lawmaker denied the allegations, saying the issue in their marriage stemmed from Regina’s alleged struggle with substance abuse. He explained that her recent actions were a result of her refusal to continue with rehabilitation.
According to Nwoko, the actress had exhibited violent behavior in recent days, attacking members of his household and destroying property while he was away. He maintained that he has never been violent toward any of his wives and that Regina’s erratic conduct had become a major concern.
“The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria especially Jordan where she will not have access to drugs,” he stated.
Nwoko also alleged that certain individuals were enabling Regina’s drug use, naming people he claimed supplied her with substances. He expressed fears for her safety and urged her to seek medical help immediately.
His response came after Regina Daniels appeared in a viral video looking distressed and accusing her husband of sending thugs to beat her. The video showed her crying and shouting as she was being pacified by onlookers.
The conflicting narratives have sparked massive debate online, with many Nigerians calling for a proper investigation into the matter.
