Regina Daniels, a popular Nollywood actress, has alleged that her estranged husband, a prominent Nigerian lawmaker, subjected her to emotional manipulation and isolation during their marriage.
In a statement published by VANGUARD on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Daniels claimed that the lawmaker deliberately sought reasons to arrest people close to her, leaving her without friends, support, or a safe space. She said these actions were meant to break her emotionally and force her back into the relationship.
Daniels said she was cut off from her family for weeks after her phones were seized. She also alleged that she was locked in a room and labeled “mentally unstable” whenever she tried to leave the union. According to her, the lawmaker used her past drug use to distract the public from the real issues in their relationship.
She stated, “You want to find a reason to arrest everyone around me so that I will have no one left beside me, no friend, no support, no safe place to turn to. Then when I’m completely isolated and broken, I will be forced to come back to you because I will have nowhere else to go. Every problem we have had started when I no longer wanted you, whether sober or even high. Tell people the truth.”
Her statement comes days after she appeared in a tearful video, expressing deep frustration over ongoing family struggles.
