Speaking during an interview with Nedu Wazobia on The Clarity Zone Podcast, comedian Osama Akpunonu, popularly known as Osama, opened up about the painful loss of his wife, revealing that she passed away at the age of 28 and that he initially struggled to accept the reality of her death.
Osama disclosed that they had been married for just 10 months. According to him, they got married on May 15, 2021, before she died on March 26, 2022, after battling meningitis.
Recalling the emotional experience, the comedian said he accompanied her body to the mortuary because he still believed there was a chance she was alive. He added that he even asked a mortuary attendant to check her body to reassure him that she had truly died.
In his words, “If my late wife can die at the age of 28, then who am I? I was married for 10 months. I married on May 15, 2021, and my wife died on March 26, 2022. She had meningitis. I told people I had a second phase of life when I did not agree that my wife was dead. I followed her body to the mortuary because I still believed she had only fainted.
