Zainab Buba Galadima, former APC member, recounted the harrowing experience that caused her conscience to leave the party. She shared the story during her appearance on Mic On Podcast.
Galadima narrates how her son nearly died due to hospital negligence. She had no money at 1:00 a.m. when her son was convulsing. A nurse demanded 10,000 to 15,000 naira before treating him. She says this “Nigeria happened to me” moment made her realize the system’s failure.
Galadima said: “One day Nigeria happened to me. My son was sick. He couldn’t breathe. He was convulsing. So I ran to the hospital with him at 1:00 a.m. I left my phone at home. I didn’t have any money. I didn’t have 500 naira. I told them I live across the road. My name is Zainab Galadima. I am a Technical Assistant to the Vice President.
