Kwankwaso Speaks on Possibility of NDC and ADC to Work Together Before 2027 Election

Former Kano State Governor and National Democratic Congress (NDC) chieftain, Rabiu Kwankwaso, says the NDC and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) may collaborate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Arise News on Monday, Kwankwaso said his decision to leave the ADC was not due to any personal disagreement with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar or other leaders of the party.

“I decided to leave the ADC not because I had issues with Atiku Abubakar or anyone else, but because there were problems within the party,” he said. “As it stands now, there are three major issues which we believe will be very difficult to resolve and to field candidates under.”

Kwankwaso disclosed that during the build-up to the 2023 elections, his daughter advised him to work with former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi. He noted that both politicians have now aligned under the NDC, formally joining the party on May 3 alongside other opposition figures.

He added that despite leaving the ADC, future cooperation between the NDC and ADC remains possible ahead of the next presidential election.

“NDC and ADC may work together before 2027,” Kwankwaso said without giving details of the proposed collaboration.
