According to a report by Daily Trust News on Monday, June 8, 2026, Kachalla, the leader of the bandit group that kidnapped Major General Rabe (rtd) and his wife, Muhammadu Kachalla, has revealed that had his mother or father been arrested, he said he would have killed the general.
In his words, “If my mother or father had been among those arrested, I swear to God I would have killed the General to show the government that it cannot intimidate us.”
In a leaked audio recording obtained by Daily Trust, Kachalla said he had promised the general that he would release his wife, but the high rate of security operatives’ presence changed his mind. He said if he hadn’t released the general’s wife, she would have been taken to the police station, and they would have claimed that she was rescued by the security personnel.
Kachalla stated that deploying 1,000 soldiers would still not enable them to locate the general. He stated that the government cannot intimidate them. He said the security operatives should be withdrawn around the area if the negotiations are real.
