According to Jerusalem Post, the Israel Defense Forces announced that it has killed the head of Hamas’s sniper array in Beit Hanoun, a commander directly responsible for the deaths of five Israeli soldiers.
The operation, which was conducted based on precise intelligence, targeted the terrorist operative in the northern Gaza Strip, the IDF confirmed that the commander had orchestrated multiple sniper attacks against troops operating in the area.
In a statement released to the press, the military detailed the significance of the elimination.
“The terrorist was responsible for the death of five soldiers and planned and carried out a number of sniper attacks against the soldiers of the IDF who were operating in the area, the IDF said.
The military added that the strike dismantles a critical component of Hamas’s sniper capabilities in Beit Hanoun, a city that has seen intense ground operations since the war began. Troops have been operating systematically in the area to neutralize terror infrastructure and operatives.
The elimination comes as IDF ground operations continue to intensify in northern Gaza, where forces have encountered concentrated resistance from remaining Hamas battalions. The IDF stated that it remains committed to dismantling Hamas’s military capabilities and ensuring the security of Israeli civilians and soldiers.
