Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the AAC, has stated that there was an attempt to assassinate him when he was a student for the University of Lagos

In a video Omoyele Sowore shared, he said in 1994, he was attacked in the middle of the campus by different cult groups. He said the attack was led by a police officer who was also a real estate management student at the University of Lagos. He stated that during the incident, he was injected with an unknown substance

Sowore said several other attempts were later made on his life. He stated that because of the several threats to his life, he decided to leave Nigeria for the United States of America

In Sowore’s words: “The plan to assassinate me had started when I was 21 years old. By 1994 I was attacked in the middle of the campus by all the cult groups, sponsored by the school authorities and the police.
