Tracy Ohiri, a businesswoman who accused Minister David Umahi of owing her a large sum of money and threatening that what happened to NELAN engineers in Ebonyi State would also happen to her if she visited the state, has now apologized.
In a video shared by Wike’s aide Lere Olayinka on X (formally Twitter), Ohiri said she decided to apologize after holding consultations with her family, friends, and legal team. She stated that Engineer David Umahi, the former governor of Ebonyi State and current Minister of Works, did not tell her that what happened to the NELAN engineers would happen to her if she visited Ebonyi State. She said she does not personally know the NELAN engineers and only heard about them from the internet and from other people.
Ohiri apologized to David Umahi for the embarrassment the allegations she made may have caused him and his family. She also apologized to his family, her own family, her friends, and everyone who felt hurt or embarrassed because of the incident.
In Ohiri’s words: “I admit that Engineer David Umahi, the former governor of Ebonyi State and current minister of Works, didn’t inform me that what happened to the NELAN engineers would happen to me if I visit Ebonyi State. I do not know the NELAN engineers except what I heard from internet or what I heard from people. I apologize to David Umahi for the embarrassment this may have cost him and his family. I sincerely apologize to his family, to my own family and friends and everyone who felt hurt and embarrassed with what happened”……See More
