According to a report by The Times of Israel on March 19, 2026, more than twenty Hezbollah operatives lost their lives during intense ground operations conducted by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon yesterday.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that troops from the 36th Division eliminated many of these fighters through direct engagements, while the Israeli Air Force carried out precise strikes that contributed to the casualties.
In a specific encounter, soldiers serving in the Golani Brigade spotted a group of Hezbollah members preparing to launch anti-tank missiles against Israeli positions.
The troops responded immediately and killed five operatives in that targeted action. During these operations, ground forces discovered and seized a large quantity of weapons hidden in the area.
Among the items recovered were numerous rocket-propelled grenades along with several anti-tank guided missiles intended for use against armored vehicles.
The 36th Division currently operates as one of four active IDF divisions engaged in ground maneuvers across southern Lebanon.
These efforts began after Hezbollah initiated repeated attacks on Israeli territory in connection with the broader conflict involving Iran.
