Don’t Join Protest You Know Nothing About The Crisis In Middle East Is Fitnah-Clerics Warn Nigerians

‎According to a report by Punch, on Thursday March 5, 2026, Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and other Islamic leaders has warned Nigerians to avoid joining protests they do not clearly understand, stating that demonstrations can be easily hijacked by people who want to cause violence and destruction.

‎The warning was given during the 2026 Ramadan Tafsir and Iftar programme held at Lagos House, Ikeja, the message was delivered by the National Missioner of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Sheikh Abdulrahman Ahmad, speaking for the League of Chief Imams.

‎The clerics spoke about recent street protests linked to the killing of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei during strikes involving the United States and Israel, some members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria had earlier held demonstrations in Lagos in solidarity with the Middle East situation.

‎The clerics said Nigerians should not allow foreign conflicts to disturb peace in Nigeria, they warned that even peaceful protests can turn violent if bad actors join the crowd.

‎Sheikh Ahmad reminded people about the 2020 EndSARS protests in Nigeria, he said the protests started as a campaign against police brutality but later caused destruction in many communities.

‎He said people may have good intentions when protesting, but they should think about possible dangers, he advised Nigerians to avoid actions that could lead to chaos.

‎“Don’t join a protest that you don’t know anything about. The crisis in the Middle East is fitnah. This is a time for prayer, a time to be part of peace; this is not a time for protest,” Ahmad declared…..See More
