Tina Umoru, wife of alleged coup plot suspect Zekeri Umoru, has opened up about the hardship her family has faced since her husband’s detention, revealing that their children have been forced to stay home due to the situation.

She spoke while reacting to recent developments in the ongoing legal case involving her husband, who is accused of taking part in meetings connected to a suspected plot against the government in 2025.
According to available details, the Federal Government has filed a 13-count charge against the defendants, including allegations bordering on treason, terrorism, and failure to disclose critical information related to the alleged coup attempt. Prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation also claim the group attempted to undermine the authority of the President.
In the video that surfaced online, Tina Umoru described the emotional and financial toll the situation has taken on her family, especially their children.
She said she had no contact with her husband for six months until he suddenly reached out to inform her about his upcoming court appearance.
