Jimoh Gbadamosi, one of the kidnap victims rescued during a joint forest operation by the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands, has recounted how the abductors concealed their identities and communicated among themselves while holding him and other captives in the forest.
The rescued victim spoke during an interview on Channels Television, providing fresh details about the kidnappers’ operations and leadership structure. His account came after security operatives successfully stormed the gang’s forest hideout, leading to the rescue of the victims.
Narrating his experience, Gbadamosi said, “They covered their faces. They speak Fulani fluently. They called one Babangida, he is their team leader.”
According to him, the kidnappers ensured that their faces remained covered throughout the period of captivity, making it difficult for victims to identify them. He added that the gang members spoke fluent Fulani while communicating with one another and repeatedly referred to an individual called “Babangida,” whom they appeared to recognise as their leader.
Gbadamosi’s testimony offers further insight into the organisation of the kidnapping gang and could aid investigators as efforts continue to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the crime. However, the identity of the individual referred to as “Babangida” has not been independently confirmed by the police.
