As we approach the 2027 general elections, I want to urge us to continue to forgive ourselves-Wadada

According to a report by The Punch on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the governorship aspirant in Nasarawa State and anointed successor of Governor Abdullahi Sule, Senator Aliyu Wadada, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to embrace unity, forgiveness, and reconciliation as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Wadada made the appeal during a meeting with party stakeholders and supporters held at the Nasarawa State Lodge in Abuja, shortly before submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms.

He expressed appreciation for the widespread support he has received across the state, saying he was deeply humbled by the backing and would not take it for granted.

The senator also commended Governor Sule for his role in his emergence as the preferred aspirant, describing the process as one built on trust and a shared commitment to strengthening the party.

“As we approach the 2027 general elections, I want to urge us to continue to forgive ourselves because that is the best way to remain united as a people and achieve success,” he said.

Wadada further praised aspirants who stepped down in support of his candidacy, describing their actions as a demonstration of loyalty and political maturity.

He also acknowledged key party stakeholders for their contributions to the unity and progress of the APC in the state, noting that collective sacrifice would be essential for electoral success.

A party chieftain, Dr Ahmed Musa, also urged members to support Wadada’s candidacy, describing his emergence as divinely guided and in the best interest of the state.

He added that maintaining party unity was essential for sustaining the developmental agenda of the current administration.

Other party leaders, including the Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, also expressed support for Wadada, calling for cohesion within the party ahead of the elections….See More
