Former US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley has taken a hardline position against renewed diplomatic engagement with Iran, arguing that Washington must adopt strict conditions before considering any agreement with Tehran.
In a statement shared on her verified social media account, Haley said negotiations cannot succeed with what she described as a regime hostile to the United States and accused Iran of supporting militant activities across the Middle East for decades.
She insisted that any future deal must go far beyond limiting nuclear development and instead require sweeping security concessions from Tehran.
According to Haley, Iran must completely eliminate its nuclear production capability, halt all ballistic missile programmes, and end support for armed proxy groups operating in the region.
She also called for sustained verification, saying the United States should refuse to grant any sanctions relief unless Iran complies fully with these conditions for at least one year.
Haley expressed deep skepticism about Iran’s willingness to meet such demands, arguing that past agreements failed because Iranian leaders repeatedly misled international negotiators.
She warned that easing pressure prematurely would strengthen Tehran economically and strategically, potentially increasing instability across the Middle East.
Her comments come at a time of renewed diplomatic efforts between United States and Iran aimed at reviving or reshaping a nuclear framework, even as tensions remain high over enrichment activities, missile development, and regional security concerns.
