In a recent video on YouTube, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has recounted how a prophetic declaration he made years ago about presidents worshipping at the church was initially met with skepticism but has since begun to come to pass.
According to Adeboye, many people doubted him when he first announced that sitting presidents would one day come to worship with the church. “Some people thought I was joking when I said presidents will come and worship with us,” he recalled. At the time, Nigeria was under successive administrations led by Muslim presidents, making the declaration appear unrealistic to critics.
Adeboye said he remained resolute because he was convinced of what God had told him. “I said God said it. I know what God said,” he stated, adding that this conviction led him to instruct the church to build a presidential lodge within the Redemption Camp. “Let’s build a presidential lodge. We built a house. They built it reluctantly,” he explained.
He narrated that as the years passed without any president visiting, doubts within the church leadership grew. “When no president came year after year, the elders came to me. They even had a meeting behind my back,” Adeboye said. According to him, some elders questioned his intentions and suggested he move into the lodge himself, suspecting it was built for personal use.
Despite the pressure, Adeboye said he stood firm on the declaration. “I said presidents will come,” he reaffirmed.
He noted that events have since vindicated the prophecy. “By the grace of God, they have started coming,” Adeboye said, referencing visits by past and present national leaders to RCCG programmes.
However, the cleric stressed that the fulfillment is not complete. “More is coming,” he added, expressing confidence that greater manifestations of the prophecy will still unfold.
