Mossab Hassan Yousef, son of a Hamas founder who defected to Israel, has attributed the recent Sydney terror attack to what he describes as two years of systematic anti-Jewish indoctrination following the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel.
Speaking on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored program, Yousef delivered a stark assessment of the forces behind rising antisemitic violence. “Well, this is horrible. This is the outcome of two years of hateful indoctrination, demonizing the Jews, dehumanizing and delegitimizing Israel,” Yousef stated in response to questions about the father-son terror attack at Bondi Beach.
The former Hamas operative, who worked as an Israeli informant for a decade, described the violence as part of a broader campaign. “What we were expecting, this has been a jihad campaign against the Jewish minority, and most people are in denial,” he explained, noting that the targeting of Jewish communities began well before the recent Gaza conflict.
Yousef criticized what he characterized as false narratives about Israeli actions that have fueled hatred. “Instead of understanding Israel’s position that Israel had no choice but to fight and eliminate Hamas, the world accused Israel of committing genocide. Then so many false narratives were built on that theory that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and that led to the hatred against the Jewish people,” he said.
He directly linked these narratives to violent attacks, stating: “It led to the Sydney attack to Manchester attack and it will lead to more attacks.” Yousef warned that misinformation has deadly consequences, declaring: “Many times I said falsehood will eventually lead to violence, false narrative of occupation, of genocide, of ethnic cleansing, things actually don’t exist in reality.”
Addressing Israel’s military response in Gaza, Yousef acknowledged the tragedy while defending Israel’s position. “There is a tragedy in Gaza, nobody celebrating this tragedy in Israel. No Israeli politician or citizen wanted to go into Gaza. It’s not a fun trip. It’s not a walk in the park,” he stated, explaining that Israel faced an impossible situation after October 7.
“Israel after the atrocity of October 7 had to send its best men to die in Hamas booby traps where they cannot even differentiate combatant from civilian, where the terrorists, jihadists used their own people as human shields. So the outcome has been catastrophic,” Yousef elaborated.
He accused international observers of enabling antisemitic violence through biased coverage. “But the world instead of understanding Israel position, what they did? They have been accusing Israel. They have demonized the Jewish people. And now they want to go after in a Jewish hunt after the Jewish people worldwide. And nobody’s stopping them. They’re going unchecked,” Yousef asserted.
