Trump: He Doesn’t Want Any More Talk, He Wants Action, He Wants The War To Come To An End -Leavitt

According to a report by The Times Of Israel on Friday, December 12, 2025, US President Donald Trump is “extremely frustrated” with both Russia and Ukraine, his spokeswoman said, as Kyiv insisted Washington continued pressing it to accept major territorial concessions in a proposed settlement to end the nearly four-year conflict.

“The president is extremely frustrated with both sides of this war,” Karoline Leavitt told reporters. “He doesn’t want any more talk. He wants action. He wants this war to come to an end.”

Her remarks came shortly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that the core elements of Washington’s approach remained unchanged. He indicated that the United States was still encouraging Kyiv to surrender parts of its territory as part of a deal to halt the war, which began with Russia’s invasion in February 2022.

According to Zelensky, Washington’s latest position would require only Ukrainian forces—not Russian troops—to withdraw from parts of the eastern Donetsk region. In that area, a demilitarised “free economic zone” would be established to serve as a buffer separating the two sides, he told reporters, including journalists from AFP.

Zelensky added that under the most recent proposal, Russian forces would retain their positions in the south, while withdrawing from certain areas in the north that President Vladimir Putin has not claimed to have annexed. This framework appeared to mirror key elements of the 28-point plan the United States sent to Kyiv and Moscow last month, which Ukrainian officials described as strongly tilted toward Russian interests.

Kyiv has been working on its own revisions to Washington’s initial blueprint. Earlier this week, Ukrainian authorities submitted a 20-point counter-proposal to the United States. While officials have not released the full document, they indicated that it reflects Ukraine’s insistence on maintaining its territorial integrity and securing conditions it considers necessary for a durable peace.
