Prelate and Metropolitan Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, has expressed deep concern over the growing wave of Christian persecution and targeted killings in parts of the country. He described it as heartbreaking and “very bloody” that some individuals genuinely believe they will receive a special reward or inheritance in heaven for killing innocent people.
In a video briefing shared online by TVC on their official YouTube channel, Pastor Adefarasin addressed the media on the disturbing rise of what he termed Christian genocide. He explained that the crisis has taken a heavy emotional toll not just on him but on many ministers who constantly mourn the loss of their members.
According to him, the reality of receiving calls late at night—sometimes at 2:00 a.m. or 3:00 a.m.—informing him of attacks or killings of worshippers, pastors, and church members, has become a painful routine. He said these distressing reports often leave him emotionally drained because he feels the weight of the tragedy experienced by pastors whose congregations are being wiped out by violent extremists.
While criticizing the actions of Islamic terrorist groups believed to be responsible for many of these attacks, Adefarasin condemned the ideology that glorifies violence and rewards murder. He described such beliefs as both tragic and dangerous.
In his words:
“It’s very tough. It’s a struggle. I get calls at 2:00 a.m., 3:00 a.m. in the morning. I feel the pain of the pastors who lose so many members across the space, or members of friends’ churches. It’s very bloody. It’s very bad that people believe they will get a special inheritance in heaven by killing people like you and me. And that breaks my heart.”
