According to a media post by Honourable Lere Olayinka, media aide to the FCT Minister, on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is currently presiding over an Expanded Security Committee meeting of the FCTA in Abuja.
The session brings together a broad team of security stakeholders, reflecting the administration’s renewed push to strengthen safety across the Federal Capital Territory.
In attendance are the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, heads of security agencies, Area Council Chairmen, as well as traditional and religious leaders.
The meeting, held behind closed doors, is expected to review emerging security concerns in the nation’s capital, assess recent incidents, and agree on coordinated strategies to enhance intelligence gathering, joint operations, and community engagement.
Minister Wike emphasized the importance of synergy among all security formations and local authorities, noting that protecting lives and property in the FCT requires unified action and timely responses.
Participants also discussed ways to reinforce surveillance in vulnerable areas and deepen collaboration with community leaders to curb criminal activities.
The gathering underscores the FCTA’s commitment to ensuring peace, order, and stability across Abuja and its surrounding communities.
